Rose Hilton ‘Nude at Her Dressing Table’

Rose Hilton 1931-2019 This delicious, oil on canvas 20″ x 24″ circa 2006, is a wonderful example of an artist whose work only got better and better. Rose Phipps won a first at the Royal Collage of Art and travelled through Europe before marrying the Artist Roger Hilton. They moved to Cornwall and she dedicated her life to him and their children – until his death in 1975; when she resumed painting. Her confidence and style of work – figurative bordering on abstract, is unique and beautiful. Works are held at the Tate and other public collections. She had regular solo shows with Messums.
