This delicious half-length portrait of a young lady in a headscarf …‘Marlene’ - in an apparently casual pose, shows off Walkers wonderful brush work and feelings for her sitters. Scottish born Walker studied at Westminster and Putney Schools of Art, before going to the Slade. This painting was shown at the Leicester Gallery in London in the 1940’s. Oil on canvas in antique gilt-wood frame. Size: 29.5” x 25.5” (70cm x 63.5cm)
