Ronald Ossory Dunlop
Ronald Ossory Dunlop (1894-1973) Strong portrait of a flame haired lady - with a likeness to Virginia Wolf or her sister Venessa Bell. However the demure pose, suggests a more likely sitter, is the artist red haired wife, Rosalind Iden. On form, as here - Dunlop's confident use of paint is first class and has produced a stunning portrait. The picture probably dates from the 1930's. Condition, some flaking of paint around the top of picture and would benefit from some conservation. The painting is signed and mounted in an antique frame, behind glass. Size: 20" x 16"
