Alexander Koolman's portrait of young lady
Alexander Koolman R.P. R.B.A. (1907-1998). This beautiful, sensuous portrait of an elegant young lady, her face turned slightly towards the viewer was probably painted in the 1970’s. Koolman was a prolific painter of portraits and nudes - and during this time was enjoying a successful period at the Mall Galleries - showing portraits of celebrities such as George Harrison and Quentin Crisp. He also exhibited regularly at the Royal Society of British Artists and The Society of Portrait Painters. He lived in Chiswick, West London. Size: 23” x 30” oil on board, bares artist studio stamp on reverse.
