Lucy Harwood 'German Village'
Lucy Harwood (1893-1963) was a true eccentric whose off beat individuality is revealed in her art. Never married, she lived all her life in Suffolk. At the age of 43, Harwood was one of the first students of Cedric Morris and Lett Haines at their East Anglian School of Painting and Drawing. During the winter she would travel in Europe and this picture is an excellent example of her work there. Strong brush strokes, combined with a sure use of colour, capturing the gardens and church spire of this German town. Condition is good. size: 30" x 24"
